Biologics Process Development, Inc. Management Team

Dr. Datar has over 24 years of experience in biotechnology and bio-business, including the last 8 years in senior management and technical positions of publicly traded or startup biotech ventures. He became CEO of BPD in 2008. Dr. Datar has held Founding-CEO, Head of SBU, Vice President and R&D positions for US multinational and European companies and successfully raised about $40 million for biotech startups over the past 10 years. Dr. Datar obtained his Post-Doctorate in Biochemical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Bioprocess Technology from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden.

Dr. Brown has over 25 years of vast biotechnology industry experience, including over 13 years as Founder, President and Chief Scientific Officer of BPD. Dr. Brown has extensive experience in process development, including cloning and expressing heterologous genes in microbial and non-microbial systems, as well as protein purification from native and recombinant sources and consulting. Dr. Brown holds a Ph.D. in microbiology from UCLA.

Joan is a Founder of BPD and has over 13 years of experience as Vice President and Chief Operations Officer. Her responsibilities include finance and facilities administration. Joan holds a B.A. degree from UCLA.

Jeff has over 25 years biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry experience, including over 4 years as Vice President and Chief Business Officer of BPD and responsibilities for Business Development. Jeff has been the CEO and President of companies and held executive positions in management, operations, business development and sales that include successful tenures with his own company, Johnson & Johnson and Schering-Plough. Jeff holds an M.B.A. in Business Administration from Pepperdine University.
